Mambo Chutney puts a tap in your toe, a tune in your ear, happiness in your whistle and a skip in your step - spontaneous dancing has not been unknown! Our original South African township sets have now developed into a broad range of tunes from around the world seen through a particular ‘Mambo Chutney jazz prism’. A jazz standard may occasionally appear in the mix when it earns its place and links to a tune or theme from what might loosely be called world music jazz. The band is an eight piece line-up with instrumental doubling of various kinds to offer a range of flavours – many gigs allow us to go à la carte and play wide selections from our extensive menu. |
