Stacks of Sax is a Suffolk based saxophone group that has been performing around the region for the past twenty years or so. Our standard line up is now eight saxes which can feature, alongside the usual suspects, the tiny Sopranino Sax and the enormous Bass Sax. We can offer smaller combinations - see panel below. Years ago our first gig was rewarded with a huge watermelon each, which turned out to be very welcome on what was an extremely warm summer evening. Things have moved on considerably since then and while Herbie Hancock's Watermelon Man is in the pad we no longer play for donations of fruit (no matter what the temperature!). Our repertoire has broadened to include jazz, swing, light classical and show tunes alongside original pieces which cater for the varied audiences we perform to. |
