Stacks of Sax is an East Anglian based saxophone group that has been performing around the region for the past twenty five years or so. Our standard line up is now eight saxes which features Soprano through to Baritone saxes. We can offer smaller combinations - see panel below. Years ago our first gig was rewarded with a huge watermelon each, which turned out to be very welcome on what was an extremely warm summer evening. Things have moved on considerably since then and while Herbie Hancock's Watermelon Man is in the pad we no longer play for donations of fruit (no matter what the temperature!). Our repertoire has broadened to include jazz, swing, light classical and show tunes alongside original pieces which cater for the varied audiences we perform to. Recently we have been developing light-hearted words and music sets based on fairy tales and the like - all good fun! |
